The Grass Gypsys: Lyrics

Just One Kiss

(The Grass Gypsys)
September 19, 2006
Colleen & Justin Kleya

We'd fallen in love and yet the hum drum of our day to day existed( of course), the first line of the lyrics came to Colleen as she drove away from Justin, after quickly stopping by before she rushed off to work "Can I stop by for just one kiss"...It came together quickly, we knew we were writing a jazz tune. It was recorded at galaxy park for the first album shortly after it was written. You can feel it's freshness and our joy in it.

Can I Stop by for just one kiss? One kiss then I will have to go.

Workin' round the clock ain't easy, but you could ease my heavy workload.

Can I stop by for just one kiss? You'll have to meet me at the door.

'Cause if i walk in with you, baby, one kiss turns two, turns three, turns four.

I know it's not easy watching the days go by.

"All work, no play" is not our philosophy,

But how else will we get by?

Oh won't you take this break with me? Drove fifteen minutes, now I got five.

Embrace me and let's kiss, get me through another shift, before we meet again tonight.

I know it's not easy watching the days go by.

"All work, no play" is not our philosophy,

but how else will we get by?

Each day I dream of just one kiss. Pace and putter, stare at the phone

One day I'll tell my boss I'm through and spending all my days in bliss with you...
